Cyprus reports 2 deaths due to COVID-19, 59 new cases, 73 people are in hospital on Friday

Authorities in Cyprus reported two more deaths from COVID-19 and 59 new cases on Friday. The positivity rate stands at 0.22%. At the same time 73 patients with the disease are in hospital, 30 of whom in a serious condition.

 

According to a Health Ministry press release 61.85% of patients with COVID-19 treated in hospital has not been vaccinated.

 

The total number of deaths is 554 and the total number of cases since the outbreak of the pandemic is 120,331.

 

Ten post-COVID patients who are no longer infectious are still treated in ICUs intubated and in a serious condition.

 

On Friday 26,652 tests were carried out, 4,534 by PCR method and 22,118 by antigen rapid method.

 

The deceased were a man aged 82 and a woman aged 54 who both passed away at Nicosia General Hospital ICU on Friday. The total number of deaths is now 554
