Cyprus reports 1 death from COVID and 99 new cases Saturday, 78 patients in hospitals

Cyprus Health Ministry on Saturday announced that one person died from COVID and 99 new cases were detected with the positivity rate now at 0,19%. The Ministry said that 78 patients are in hospitals and 78,32% did not get their vaccines.

Moreover 12 post COVID patients who are no longer infectious, are intubated in serious condition in ICUs.

The new cases were detected from a total of 52,427 tests (rapid and PCR). The total deaths rose to 551 and of the cases to 119,689.

The deceased is a female, 88 years old who passed away yesterday at the ICU of Limassol General Hospital. From the 551 deaths 350 are male (64%) and 201 females (36%) and the median age is 76,3 years.

Of the 78 patients, 32 are in serious condition or in ACUs. Fourteen of them are intubated, one in an ICU and 17 in ACU.

From the 52,427 tests, 4,816 were PCR
