Cyprus’ FM congratulates new Greek FM during phone conversation

Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cyprus Constantinos Kombos congratulated the newly-appointed Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, during a phone conversation they had on Tuesday. ‘During a warm phone conversation with the new Greek FM George Gerapetritis, Cyprus’ FM Constantinos Kombos congratulated him on the assumption of his duties’, the Greek Foreign Ministry said in a post on Twitter. ‘Discussion focused on close and continuous coordination and cooperation between Greece and Cyprus, shared challenges, as well as on major regional developments of mutual interest’, the Ministry noted. Earlier, during the ceremony for the assumption of his duties, the Greek Foreign Minister noted that the Greek foreign policy ‘will remain a principled policy, a policy based on international law, inspired by the principles of the United Nations Charter and aiming at regional cooperation and stability.” “It is our duty to defend our sovereignty and our national existence on a daily and non-negotiable basis”, Gerapetritis concluded.
