Prague: Commissioner for Agriculture and Food, Christophe Hansen, is visiting Czechia from 20 to 21 August 2025. The visit aims to strengthen cooperation between the European Union and Czech authorities on key agri-food and rural development priorities. The agenda emphasizes the EU’s dedication to innovation, generational renewal, and high-quality food production. Hansen’s mission includes direct engagement with farmers, businesses, and local stakeholders to discuss challenges and opportunities within the Czech agri-food sector, as well as deliberations on the upcoming Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and the future Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
According to Cyprus News Agency, Commissioner Hansen met with Czech Agriculture Minister Marek V½born½ to discuss the future MFF and CAP. His itinerary also includes a visit to the Podhrad farm, where he will engage with representatives from young farmers’ associations. A roundtable discussion with agricultural stakeholders, including various agri-businesses, will provide a platform to exchange views on the MFF and CAP.
On the following day, Commissioner Hansen is scheduled to meet leaders of parliamentary agricultural committees. Alongside Agriculture Minister V½born½, he will attend the Official Opening Ceremony of the 51st edition of the Zeme ‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦¡¬¦½ivitelka agricultural fair. Commissioner Hansen will deliver a speech, visit a smart farming venue, and hold a press conference with Minister V½born½ to emphasize the visit’s outcomes. The itinerary will conclude with a visit to the Budvar Brewery, highlighting the Protected Geographical Indication ‘Beer from Budejovice’.
