Migration influxes to Cyprus Republic are unusual in the current period and the authorities have received more than 3,856 applications from asylum seekers in the months of October-November 2021, Interior Minister Nicos Nouris has said.
He added that the percentage of asylum seekers and eligible persons for international protection correspond to 4.4% of the population of Cyprus and that for the 5th consecutive year Cyprus is the EU Member state with the highest humber of applicants of international protection in relation to its population.
