Activation of “Estia” plan, MFA’s Crisis Management Centre in full operation

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Crisis Management Center is in full operation and alert, and as of Friday, the Special Plan “Estia” has been proactively activated at level 3, the Ministry said in press release on Sunday in light of developments in the region.

“Due to the closure of Jordanian and Lebanese airspace, four flights with a total number of 704 passengers destined for Jordan and Lebanon landed in Larnaca yesterday,” it said.

The two flights to Lebanon departed this morning for Beirut, while one of the two flights to Jordan will depart for Amman this afternoon. The flights were carrying 101 Jordanians, who were provided with all facilities until they departed for their destination, the Ministry added.

Foreign Affairs Minister Constantinos Kombos has been in continuous contact with his counterparts over the past 24 hours, the press release continued.

The Foreign Ministry “will continue to closely monitor developments and take all necessary actions,” the press release concluded.
