A yellow warning issued by the Department of Meteorology has come into effect as of Thursday morning due to expected showers and possibly isolated heavy thunderstorms.
According to the statement, the warning is in effect from 6 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, for 24 hours. During this time, “a combination of rain and possible isolated heavy thunderstorms are expected to affect the area,” the statement said.
It added that total precipitation is likely to locally exceed 55mm over the 24-hour period.
