French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna expressed France’s firm support to Greece and Cyprus against threats and violations of their sovereignty, during her joint statements with her Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias, on Tuesday in Athens.
Catherine Colonna said that France is carefully monitoring developments in the region to avoid further escalation of tensions. As she said, France is a friend and ally of Greece and offers its full solidarity against any threat to Greece’s sovereignty.
The French Foreign Minister noter that during her visit to Ankara, on Monday, she reiterated the need to avoid statements that could lead to an escalation of tension. In this context, she noted that the region needs stability and there must be mutual respect and not an escalation of tensions.
