We are not going down the road of indecent behavior the Turkish side demonstrates, says President Anastasiades

We are not going down the same road of indecent behavior demonstrated by those who follow revisionist policies, Cyprus President Nicos Anstasiades said on Monday evening.

He was invited to comment on a statement made by Turkey’s Vice President, Fuat Oktay, who rejected the Confidence Building Measures proposed by the Greek Cypriot side, said that he will make no concessions and made statements as regards Famagusta.

Anastasiades said that we remain focused on our goal for the resumption of the talks for a solution on the basis of the UN Security Council resolutions, the UN Chart and the European principles.

Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkey invaded and occupied its northern third. Repeated rounds of UN-led peace talks have so far failed to yield results.
