Ways to jointly tackle the impact of the sanctions on Russia are being assessed with the EU, President Anastasiades says

?he government, jointly with the EU, is looking into ways to tackle the impact and the consequences of the sanctions against Russia, President Nicos Anastasiades said on Monday.

He was responding to a question on the sidelines of the General Assembly of civil servants’ trade union, PASYDY, on whether Cyprus should assess its programming in relation with fiscal policies, given that the World Bank expects an impact on the world economy from the war in Ukraine.

“We have already started, both with regard to the Republic of Cyprus, the government, but also in cooperation with the European Commission, so that we can see how to again jointly tackle the impact and consequences of the sanctions against Russia, as was the case with the issues caused by the pandemic,” he said.
