Water Supply Fully Restored in Fire Stricken Areas, Water Department Says

Nicosia: The Water Development Department of Cyprus has announced that the water supply has been fully restored in the areas affected by the devastating wildfires in Limassol district.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the Department noted in a press release that water supply to the affected communities has been fully restored and that personnel is in the areas every day to address any problems that may arise.

As regards projects against floods, it noted that the identification of intervention sites has already been completed, following a series of intensive on-site monitoring in the area.

It added that tenders have already been announced for the supply of the necessary material so that on-site work can begin immediately.

Finally, it announced that as of August 1st, a plan is being implemented for the 100% financing of generators in fire-stricken communities and 80% financing for the other communities.
