Nicosia: Cypriot athlete Zoe Ioannou secured 4th place at the European Weightlifting Championships for those under 15 years of age. The event took place in Madrid from July 23 to 31.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Cyprus Weightlifting Federation highlighted Zoe’s achievement, particularly her performance in the 69 kg category, where she competed against 16 top athletes from across Europe. The Federation emphasized that Zoe’s performance was among the best ever by a Cypriot athlete in the European Championships.
Zoe Ioannou successfully lifted 75 kg in the snatch and 90 kg in the clean and jerk, culminating in a total of 165 kg. The Federation expressed pride in Zoe’s accomplishment and noted that her success sets a high standard for future Cypriot participants in international weightlifting events.
