Tuesday’s UN reception a very informal, social event with no agenda, new UNSG’s Special Representative says

The UNSG`s new Special Representative and head of the UN peacekeeping force in Cyprus (UNFICYP), Colin Stewart, has said that a reception which the UN will host at Ledra Palace on Tuesday, with the participation of both leaders in Cyprus, will be a very informal, social event with no agenda, that will give the leaders a chance to speak to each other and for him to get to know them better.

In statements to the media after a first meeting he had after his arrival to Cyprus, with Turkish Cypriot Ersin Tatar, Stewart said that they had a very good meeting, noting that “I am very much looking forward to a very close relationship.”

Stewart noted that he told Tatar that he wants to be helpful.
