Tourism Revenue Rises in July but Falls Overall for Cyprus

Nicosia:Tourism revenue in Cyprus increased by 4.6% in July 2026, reaching £536.5 million compared to £513 million in July 2025. This information comes from the Passenger Survey results released by the Statistical Service.

According to Cyprus News Agency, for the period from January to July 2026, tourism revenue amounted to £1.7578 billion, a decrease of 7% from £1.8911 billion in the same period of the previous year.

In July, tourists' average expenditure per person was £920.66, compared to £870.78 in July 2025, marking a 5.7% increase and the highest figure for July in a decade. The average daily expenditure rose to £107.05 from £96.75, while the average stay decreased to 8.6 days from 9 days.

Tourists from the United Kingdom, the largest market for Cyprus accounting for 31.9% of total arrivals, spent an average of £1,137.69 per person in July, or £110.46 per day, with an average stay of 10.3 days.

Israeli tourists, the second-largest market at 20.5% of arrivals, had an average expenditure of £743.49 per person and £158.19 per day, with an average stay of 4.7 days.

Polish tourists, representing 6.3% of arrivals, spent £664.37 per person and £92.27 per day, staying on average for 7.2 days.

Israeli tourists had the highest average daily expenditure in July 2026 at £158.19 per person. They were followed by tourists from Norway (£138.66), Denmark (£136.21), Switzerland (£128.64), and Belgium (£125.51). UK tourists recorded an average daily expenditure of £110.46.

On the lower end, Greek tourists recorded the lowest average daily expenditure at £55.95 per person, followed by tourists from the United States (£83.43), the Netherlands (£89.56), Poland (£92.27), France (£92.75), and Germany (£94.87).
