Tourism Revenue in Cyprus Increases by 7.8% in January 2026

Nicosia: Revenue from tourism in January recorded an increase of 7.8% on an annual basis.

According to Cyprus News Agency, based on the results of the Passengers Survey carried out by the Statistical Service of Cyprus, revenue from tourism reached £74.6 million in January 2026. This marks a significant rise compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, which saw revenue at £69.2 million.

The analysis of expenditure reveals that the average expenditure per person was £613.26 in January 2026. This is a slight decrease of 0.7% from the £617.65 recorded in January 2025. Tourists from Poland, who represent the largest tourist market with 18.6% of the total tourists in January 2026, spent an average of £72.81 per day.

Meanwhile, tourists from Israel, the second largest market during the same month accounting for 18.1% of total tourists, had a daily expenditure of £157.31. Tourists from the United Kingdom, the third largest market with 15.8% of the tourists, spent on average £70.99 per day.
