In December 2022, total production of services in the EU fell by 1.1% compared with November 2022. In the euro area, total services production decreased by 2.1%, according to data released by Eurostat, the statistical service of the EU. The data released did not include updated numbers regarding the situation in Cyprus. Compared with December 2021, services production increased by 5.1% in the EU and by 4.8% in the euro area. The annual average services production for the year 2022, compared with 2021, increased by 9.9% in the EU and by 9.7% in the euro area.
