The entirety of Europe is now in the deep red category on ECDC’s map on COVID-19 epidemiological situation

All EU/EEA regions are now in the deep red category of the weekly epidemiological map of the the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) on the spread of COVID-19, as the 14-day notification rate per 100 thousand persons weighted by vaccine uptake is greater than 300 according to the latest data.

The situation is captured on the first COVID-19 epidemiological map to be published on Thursday, according to regular practice, after new regulations and recommendations on travel between EU member states was approved. In the map that was published on Tuesday on the occasion of the new rules coming into effect on February 1st, part of Romania was still in the red category.
