Italian world number six Jannik Sinner beat compatriot and world no 41 Lorenzo Sonego in straight sets Thursday to get into the third round of the US Open.
The Alto Adige player, 22, beat the 28-year-old from Turin 6-4, 6-2, 6-4.
Sinner plays the winner of the match between Argentine Tomas Martin Etcheverry and Swiss Stan Wawrinka
