Cyprus Coastal Weather Forecast Highlights Mild Sea Conditions

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released its forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, predicting mainly fine weather with some cloud coverage over the coastal regions. The forecast, which covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards, is in effect from noon on June 20, 2026, until noon on June 21, 2026. Atmospheric pressure at the time of issuance was recorded at 1012 hPa.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the region is under the influence of seasonal low pressure. The forecast indicates that the weather over the coastal areas will remain predominantly fine, although increased cloud coverage is expected at certain times. During the night and into the following morning, the west coast may experience low cloud coverage, while the east coast could encounter patches of mist or fog, affecting visibility to moderate or poor levels.

The forecast for sea conditions across the various coasts of Cyprus suggests smooth to slight sea states, with no warnings issued. On the west coast, winds are expected to shift from southwest to northwest, ranging between 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale during the afternoon, and transitioning to northwest to northeast by night. In the morning, winds are anticipated to move from southeast to southwest.

Similarly, the south coast will experience southwest to west winds in the afternoon, shifting to northwest to northeast at night, and southeast to southwest by morning. The east coast will see winds transitioning from south to southwest in the afternoon to southwest to northwest at night, and northeast to southeast in the morning. The north coast is expected to have winds varying from southwest to northwest in the afternoon, southeast to southwest at night, and southeast to northwest in the morning.

Sea surface temperatures are reported to be 24°C, providing favorable conditions for maritime activities. No warnings have been issued, indicating stable weather patterns for the duration of the forecast period.
