AS Roma would not confirm on Saturday that Romelu Lukaku will be in the Italian capital to sign a contract with the club on Sunday amid ongoing negotiations with Chelsea for a deal.
Earlier the Belgium forward told Belgian media outlet HNL that “tomorrow I will fly to Rome to sign”.
On Saturday the giallorossi and Chelsea management met in London for a second time after a first meeting over dinner on Friday night.
The two clubs are reportedly negotiating a loan, but there is apparently still no agreement on the fee.
AS Roma are said to be offering 5-6 million euros for the player, while the London club want more.
There is also the issue of Lukaku’s salary, with the giallorossi prepared to go as far as 7-8 million euros against the 12 million euros that he currently receives.
