Seasonal Low Pressure Influences Cyprus Sea Area Weather

Nicosia: Seasonal low pressure is currently affecting the sea area surrounding Cyprus, leading to mainly fine weather conditions, as reported by the Cyprus Department of Meteorology. This forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards, with atmospheric pressure recorded at 1003 hPa at the time of issuance.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the sea surface temperature is steady at 28°C, with no warnings issued for the period from 1800 on July 31, 2026, to 1800 on August 1, 2026. Visibility remains good across the region.

The west coast will experience northwest winds ranging from 3 to 4 Beaufort during the night, shifting to north to northeast later, and variable winds moving southwest by morning. The sea state is expected to be smooth to slightly rough.

On the south coast, southwest to west winds of 3 to 4 Beaufort will shift to northwest during the night and then transition from northeast to southeast in the morning, gradually moving southeast to southwest. In the afternoon, winds will strengthen from southwest to west, with local areas experiencing 4 to 5 Beaufort.

For the east coast, the night will bring southwest to northwest winds of 3 Beaufort, with conditions remaining smooth to slightly rough. The morning will see northwest to northeast winds, occasionally reaching 3 to 4 Beaufort locally. Afternoon conditions will transition from southeast to southwest, gradually moving south to southwest.

The north coast will experience southeast to southwest winds of 3 Beaufort at night, shifting to southwest to northwest by morning, with conditions remaining smooth to slightly rough throughout the day.
