Seasonal Low Pressure Brings Calm Seas and Localized Mist to Cyprus

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, indicating that a seasonal low-pressure system is currently affecting the region. The weather is expected to remain mainly fine, although there will be periods of locally increased low cloud coverage, particularly overnight and during the early morning hours. Local mist is anticipated at dawn, especially over the southern and eastern coastal areas.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the visibility over the sea is generally good, though it may become moderate to poor in areas affected by mist. The sea surface temperature remains steady at 27°C. Throughout the forecast period, no warnings have been issued, indicating stable conditions overall.

The forecast details the expected wind patterns and sea states for various coastal areas around Cyprus. On the west coast, winds will vary from southwest to northwest at 3 to 4, with slight sea conditions predicted throughout the day. The south coast will experience similar wind conditions, with a slight increase to 4 to 5 winds locally in the afternoon, maintaining a slight state of the sea.

The east coast will see winds from southwest to northwest at 3 during the night, increasing to 3 to 4 in the morning and potentially reaching 4 to 5 in localized afternoon areas, with smooth to slight sea conditions. On the north coast, winds will vary from south to southwest at 3 to 4, with some areas experiencing southeast to southwest winds near the coast at 3 during the night. The sea state will remain slight, occasionally smooth to slight near the coast.

This forecast emphasizes the stable maritime conditions around Cyprus, with no significant warnings expected during the forecast period.
