Nicosia: President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, and his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, held a meeting Tuesday morning in El Alamein during which they discussed bilateral relations.

According to Cyprus News Agency, President Christodoulides is in Egypt for a one-day visit at the invitation of President Sisi. He arrived in Egypt in the morning, accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Government Spokesperson.

During their meeting, the presidents discussed several areas of mutual interest, including energy, defense, regional developments, EU-Egypt relations, and the role of the Republic of Cyprus in enhancing these relations.

Following the discussions, the two leaders visited the venue of an international airshow organized by Egypt, where they toured the pavilions of various countries and watched an aerial display.

At 1 p.m., a Trilateral Summit of Cyprus, Greece, and Egypt is scheduled to take place, involving the two Presidents and the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, at the Presidential Palace in El Alamein. After the Trilateral Summit, the three leaders will address the media, followed by an official lunch hosted by the President of Egypt.
