Cairo: President Nikos Christodoulides traveled to Cairo on Saturday afternoon to attend the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum. He was invited by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to this significant cultural event.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis emphasized that the President’s attendance at the museum’s inauguration signifies recognition of Egypt’s cultural wealth and the historical connections between Cyprus and Egypt. Letymbiotis noted that the event highlights the ongoing friendly relations between the two nations.

Letymbiotis explained that the new Grand Egyptian Museum, located next to the Pyramids of Giza, covers approximately 500,000 square meters and features over 100,000 exhibits. These artifacts showcase seven millennia of Egyptian history, spanning from the Pharaonic period to the Hellenistic and Roman eras.
