President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades departs for Brussels on Wednesday to take part in the European Council meeting from 20-21 June.
The EU leaders will meet to take the relevant decisions on appointments for the next institutional cycle and to adopt the EUs strategic agenda for 2019-2024. The strategic agenda will be used to plan the work of the European Council, and will provide the basis for the work programmes of the other EU institutions.
During the summit, the Cypriot President will hold bilateral meetings with EU institution representatives and heads of states and governments, a Presidency press release said.
Anastasiades will also inform his counterparts on the Turkish provocations in Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone and he will pursue solidarity and support from his EU partners.
The President will also take part in the European Peoples Party summit.
He will be accompanied by Government Spokesman Prodromos Prodromou and government officials.
