Nicosia:total sales of petroleum products in August 2026 dropped by 1.4% compared to the same month in 2025, amounting to 121,646 tonnes. The Statistical Service reported a decrease in the provisions of aviation kerosene by 6.1%, as well as declines in the sales of asphalt by 23.9%, heating gasoil by 9.2%, and road diesel by 1.6%.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Conversely, there was an increase in the provisions of marine gasoil by 3.1%, and sales of liquified petroleum gases rose by 8.6%. Light fuel oil and motor gasoline also saw increases of 4.9% and 1.5%, respectively.

Sales from filling stations specifically saw a marginal increase of 0.2% to 54,704 tonnes. However, when comparing total sales from August to July 2026, there was a significant drop of 15.3%.

In terms of specific products, the sales of road diesel decreased by 25.5% and motor gasoline by 12.7% compared to July. Meanwhile, the provisions of marine gasoil increased slightly by 3.3%, and aviation kerosene remained almost steady with a minor decrease of 0.4%.

The total stocks of petroleum products at the end of August 2026 rose by 21.2% compared to the end of the previous month. For the period from January to August 2026, there was a 0.6% increase in total sales of petroleum products compared to the same period the previous year.
