Omonia Retains Commanding Six-Point Lead in Cyprus League By Stoiximan

Nicosia: Omonia Nicosia football club continues to lead the Cyprus League By Stoiximan standings with a six-point advantage over second-placed Apollon Limassol, with one round remaining before the end of the regular season.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Matchday 25 concluded on Sunday with three matches. Apollon defeated AEL Limassol 2-1, while Anorthosis Famagusta secured a 2-0 away victory over APOEL FC. Aris Limassol recorded a 4-0 win against bottom-placed Paralimni.

On Saturday, Omonia beat Omonia Aradippou 2-0 away from home. Pafos FC routed Krasava Ypsonas 7-0 at the Stelios Kyriakides Stadium, while Olympiakos Nicosia edged Ethnikos Achna 2-1 at the GSP Stadium. The matchday had opened on Friday with AEK defeating Akritas Chlorakas 3-0.

In the standings, Omonia top the table with 58 points, followed by Apollon with 52. AEK Larnaca follows at third place with 50 points, while Pafos is fourth with 48. Aris (43 points) and APOEL (42) complete the top six.

Below the top six, AEL is seventh with 33 points, Omonia Aradippou sits eighth with 31 points, level with Anorthosis. Olympiakos Nicosia moved up to 10th place with 28 points, followed by Akritas Chlorakas with 26, Krasava Ypsonas with 25, and Ethnikos Achna with 23, while ENP remains bottom with one point.

The final round of the regular season will take place on March 14-16. The results will determine the positions from which teams enter the second phase of the championship, where clubs will compete in two groups.
