Nicosia Appalled by Images of Israeli Hostages, Urges for Access to Humanitarian Aid for Civilians

Nicosia: Cyprus’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, in a post on “X”, that it was profoundly appalled by the shocking images of Israeli hostages held by Hamas and called for an immediate and unconditional release of all hostages. It also urged the safe and unimpeded access to humanitarian assistance for civilians on a massive scale.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the Ministry expressed its deep concern over the situation, emphasizing the urgency of a lasting ceasefire. The statement highlighted the Ministry’s stance that there is no role for any terrorist group in the future of Gaza.

The Ministry reiterated the importance of ensuring humanitarian assistance reaches civilians, underscoring that such access is both imperative and urgent. The call for action reflects Cyprus’ commitment to addressing the humanitarian needs in the conflict-affected areas.
