Nicosia: The Department of Meteorology in Cyprus has issued a fresh yellow warning for Thursday due to extreme maximum temperatures. This warning is set to be in effect between 13.00 and 17.00 local time, anticipating that the inland temperatures could rise to a sweltering 41 degrees Celsius.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Department of Forests has also issued a red alert for potential fires on Thursday. This alert highlights the severe penalties under the law for causing fires, emphasizing the gravity of such offenses.
The public is advised to exercise caution during outdoor activities and to avoid any actions that could ignite a fire. The Department of Forests urges citizens to remain vigilant and immediately report any signs of smoke or fire by contacting the emergency numbers 1407 or 112.
