Lefteris Christoforou officially a new member of the European Court of Auditors

Lefteris Christoforou gave the solemn undertaking provided for in the Treaties as one of the new members of the European Court of Auditors in a formal sitting of the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg.

Christoforou, an MEP with the European People’s Party since 2014, has joined the European Court of Auditors (ECA) with Jorg Kristijan Petrovic, Stef Blok, George Marius Hyzler, Laima Liucija Andrikiene and Keit Pentus-Rosimannus.

He has been appointed to the ECA for the period from 2 November 2022 to 1 November. His position as an EPP MEP for Cyprus was filled in by Eleni Stavrou.

The new members were appointed by the Council of the EU, in accordance with the Treaties and after consulting the European Parliament, by decisions taken on March 3rd, June 16th, July 26th, November 14th and December 13th 2022.
