Labour Minister leaves behind a heavy legacy, says House President

Labour Minister Zeta Emilianidou leaves behind a heavy legacy for all of us, said House President Annita Demetriou, expressing the condolences of the Parliament and her own for the loss of the Minister who passed away Monday evening at 68 years of age.

Demetriou described the late Minister as a very proficient government official who honoured the position of the Minister entrusted to her by the state, fulfilling her duty in full adding that she was also a very close and valuable associate of the Parliament.

She noted that Emilianidou always attended parliamentary committees whenever she was invited from all the positions from which she had served.

Demetriou said that the Minister contributed with her important legislative initiatives, significant interventions and with her determination and efficiency in the resolution of difficult situations and the passing of important labor bills that strengthened labour rights and social security, creating a fairer society.
