The investigation on the attack against the World Central Kitchen team in Gaza must be swift, thorough and bring accountability, said Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos in a post on X on Thursday.
As stated, during his contact last night with Chef José Andrés, Kombos conveyed the Cyprus Government’s deepest condolences ‘for the tragic loss of 7 fearless heroes of humanity who were helping people on the ground’.
‘Dear José, we are in mourning with you. We are closely working with the World Central Kitchen team and we share the pain that this tragedy has caused the World Kitchen family’, noted the Foreign Minister, adding that Cyprus strongly denounces all acts of violence against humanitarian workers who must always be protected, in line with international humanitarian law.
‘The investigation must be swift, thorough and bring accountability’, concluded Kombos.
