Defence Minister Charalambos Petrides participated in a discussion on the EU`s Strategic Compass, as well as on the latest developments on the ground in Ukraine, during a joint meeting of EU Foreign and Defence Ministers in the framework of the Foreign Affairs Council which was held on Monday in Brussels.
Petrides underlined in a statement after the meeting that “once again we unequivocally condemned the Russian invasion and expressed our support for the unity, independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.”
“In this context, I informed my partners about the dispatch already on behalf of Cyprus of the first humanitarian aid package of €1 million,” he added.
