Nicosia:Cyprus and Israel need to continue their collaboration to ensure the safety, defense, prosperity, and security of the Eastern Mediterranean region, stated Israeli Ambassador to Cyprus, Oren Anolik, following the military parade in Nicosia on Cyprus' Independence Day.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Ambassador Anolik expressed his honor in attending the parade, which symbolizes Cyprus' independence and its commitment to security and defense. He highlighted the strong relations between Cyprus and Israel, noting the presence of the Israeli Barak system in the parade as a testament to their connection.
As Anolik prepares to leave Cyprus next week, he reflected on his positive experiences in the country, expressing optimism about the future of bilateral relations. He emphasized the shared threats faced by both nations and their ability to cooperate in response.
One such threat was evident in a recent thwarted terror attack on a plane, attributed to the bravery of the crew and passengers. Anolik underscored the importance of continued cooperation for the safety and security of the Eastern Mediterranean, given the real and valid threats that persist.
