The Index of Industrial Production in July marked a marginal annual decline in the first reduction since February 2021, mainly driven by the sectors of electricity supply, mining and quarrying and water supply.
According to data published by the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat), the index in July reached 153.9 units (base 2015=100), recording a decrease of 0.5% compared to July 2021.
For the period January – July 2022, the index recorded an increase of 3.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
Manufacturing sector rose by 1.8% compared to July 2021, while electricity supply declined by an annual 6.8%, mining and quarrying by 6.6% and water supply and materials recovery by 0.1%, Cystat added.
