Hourly Labour Costs in Cyprus Rise by 4.1% in Second Quarter of 2025

Nicosia: Hourly labour costs in Cyprus increased by 4.1% in the second quarter of 2025 compared with the same period in 2024, according to preliminary data released on Monday by the Statistical Service of Cyprus.

According to Cyprus News Agency, both main components of labour costs-wages and salaries per hour and non-wage costs per hour-recorded increases of 4.2% and 4.1% year-on-year, respectively.

Compared with the previous quarter and after seasonal adjustment, total hourly labour costs rose by 1.0%, with wages and salaries and non-wage costs also increasing by 1.0% over the previous quarter.

The total hourly labour cost index (base year 2020=100) reached 118.73 without seasonal adjustment and 125.06 with seasonal adjustment, up from 114.01 and 119.95 in Q2 2024, respectively.
