Foreign Minister reaffirms commitment to UN agreed framework for a Cyprus solution

Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos reaffirmed Nicosia’s commitment to the UN agreed framework for a solution to the Cyprus question, during a meeting on Tuesday morning with US SG Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP), Colin Stewart.

According to message posted by the Foreign Ministry on Twitter, the two men had a “useful exchange of views.” It is also noted that Cyprus and UNFICYP will continue their close contact for achieving this goal.

In another post, the Ministry says that Kombos met with the Lebanese Ambassador, Claude Hajal to discuss further deepening of bilateral relations, and exchange views on aspects of EU-Lebanon cooperation.

Also on Tuesday, the Minister had a “results oriented discussion” with the Ambassador of Egypt Amr Mohsen Hamza, according to another message on the social media platform. The discussion focused on further promoting key aspects of bilateral relations, the Cyprus question, energy, as well as regional developments.
