Cyprus Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides met with Senator Robert Menendez in Washington DC and praised his support for Cyprus reunification.
In a twitter post Kasoulides wrote that he is very happy to meet again with a most critical champion for Cyprus. He also described Menendez as an architect of the bipartisan EastMed Partnership Act.
“Senator Menendez` steadfast support for Cyprus reunification & his allegiance to International Law, peace & stability is of unmatched value”, the Minister wrote.
Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkey invaded and occupied its northern third. A numerus round of talks, under the aegis of the UN, failed to yield results.
