Forecast Predicts Showers and Thunderstorms Over Cyprus Coastal Areas

Nicosia:An unstable airmass affecting Cyprus is expected to bring local showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly to the western, northern, and eastern coastal areas this afternoon. Tonight and tomorrow morning, increased cloud coverage is anticipated, with the possibility of isolated showers over the coastal regions.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards and indicates good visibility, although it may become moderate during showers. The atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was recorded at 1015 hPa, with sea surface temperatures at 26°C. No weather warnings have been issued.

This afternoon, the west coast will experience west to northwest winds at 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale, occasionally reaching 4, with a slight state of sea. Overnight, winds will shift to northwest to north at 3 to 4, becoming northwest to northeast near the coast, with a smooth to slight sea state. By morning, winds will transition to northwest to northeast at 3, gradually turning south to southwest, maintaining a smooth to slight sea state.

The south coast will see southwest to west winds at 3 to 4, occasionally reaching 4 to 5 this afternoon, with a slight sea state. Overnight, winds will change to northwest to northeast at 3, with a smooth to slight sea state, and by morning, they will shift to northwest to northeast at 3, gradually moving southeast to southwest.

For the east coast, this afternoon's winds will be south to southwest at 3 to 4, locally reaching 4, with a smooth to slight sea state. Overnight, winds will be west to northwest at 3, with a smooth to slight sea state. In the morning, winds will be southwest to northwest at 3, gradually changing to southeast to southwest.

On the north coast, this afternoon will bring west to northwest winds at 3 to 4, locally reaching 4, with a slight sea state. Overnight, winds will be west to northwest at 3, shifting to southeast to southwest near the coast, with a smooth to slight sea state. By morning, winds will be southeast to southwest at 3, gradually changing to southwest to northwest, with a smooth to slight sea state.
