Doha: Developments in the wider region, as well as the strategic importance of the partnership between the Republic of Cyprus and Qatar, were discussed during a meeting held on Tuesday in Qatar. The discussions took place between Foreign Affairs Minister Constantinos Kombos and Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
According to Cyprus News Agency, during the meeting, they exchanged views on the developments in the wider region and highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership between the Republic of Cyprus and Qatar. Kombos emphasized "the unwavering and steadfast solidarity of the Republic of Cyprus, in light of the unjustified attacks against Qatar and its partners in the Gulf."
Additionally, they stressed the need for close coordination, strengthening maritime security, and ensuring energy resilience as key factors for maintaining stability in the region. It was noted that diplomacy, restraint, and dialogue constitute the only viable path to de-escalating tensions and consolidating regional stability.
