The European Commission, after a long and arduous assessment process, has proceeded to the renewal of the “HR Excellence in Research Award”, which was awarded to European University Cyprus initially in 2017. The accompanying “HR Excellence in Research” logo awarded to the university identifies the institutions and organizations, which are providers and supporters of a stimulating and favourable working environment for researchers through the implementation of the “European Charter for Researchers” and the “Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers”.
The renewal of the award for the next three years reflects European University Cyprus’ commitment to high level research through the training and high degree of know-how of its human resources in all relevant research fields. The renewal also confirms the enormous importance that European University of Cyprus attaches to scientific excellence, and recognizes its provision of favourable employment conditions for its researchers. It further affirms its sustained drive for the development of new services and procedures, aiming at making the University an attractive hub for talented researchers in the region and in Europe more broadly.
The assessment indicated that “EUC is a very ambitious university with very clear and effective measures to promote research. Some of the initiatives to cultivate research culture are quite impressive and examples of good practices”. The EUC is the only non-public university and one of the four institutions in Cyprus to have received this award.
