European stocks finish week on higher note

European stock exchanges closed Friday with gains to finish the week on a higher note.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European markets in 17 countries, rose 4.55 points, or 1.01%, to end the day at 455.82.

The UK’s FTSE 100 was the best performer of the day, soaring 93 points, or 1.26%, to 7,504 at the final bell,

Germany’s DAX 30 rose 132 points, or 0.84%, to 15,919. France’s CAC 40 gained 65 points, or 0.91%, to 7,233.

Italy’s FTSE MIB, meanwhile, added 240 points, or 0.82%, to conclude the session at 29,498.

Spain’s IBEX 35 gained 94 points, or 0.97%, to end the last trading day of the week at 9,761.
