EUMED leaders express solidarity with Cyprus

EUMED leaders who participated Friday in the 8th Summit in Athens expressed their solidarity to Cyprus as regards the efforts to reunite the island and called on Turkey to terminate its provocations and cooperate with good will.

In statements during a press conference that followed the Summit, Greek Premier Kyriakos Mitsotakis said that security and stability in the Mediterranean remains a fundamental priority of all the EUMED leaders, pointing out that this stability and security is based on respect of the international law and the Law of the Sea, which all EUMED countries have signed and comply with.

Mitsotakis underlined that this respect of the law needs to be shown by neighboring Turkey and called Ankara to terminate its aggressive behavior towards Cyprus, Greece and the region.
