Brussels:The Shipping Deputy Minister to the President, Marina Hadjimanolis, is set to depart for Brussels on Monday. She has been officially invited by the European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, to participate in the Connecting Europe Days 2026. This event is a significant gathering focused on transport, connectivity, and strategic infrastructure.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Hadjimanolis's participation reflects the Republic of Cyprus' commitment to actively contributing to the development of European transport and maritime policies. It also underscores the Shipping Deputy Ministry's ongoing efforts to foster a competitive, resilient, and sustainable European maritime sector.

Hadjimanolis will be a speaker in the high-level plenary session titled 'Gateways to Europe and the World Ports and the Maritime Sector in Transition' on September 29. During this session, she will address the challenges and opportunities facing the European maritime sector, particularly in relation to geopolitical developments, energy transition, competitiveness, resilience, and decarbonisation.
