Nicosia: The Cyprus Basketball U16 Women’s National Team secured the first place at the FIBA U16 Women’s European Championship Division C. On Sunday, the National Team of Cyprus achieved a victory with 65-58 over Armenia in the Championship finals, taking place in Kosovo, securing its promotion to Division B.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Katerina Siakalli, who scored 18 points (including four 3-pointers, seven rebounds, and five assists), and Aggeliki Kyprianou, who led all scorers with 19 points (two 3-pointers and one assist), were the best players of Cyprus in the final.
Cyprus had previously topped Group A of the tournament, after the wins over Gibraltar (113-21), Georgia (60-33), and Armenia (73-69) in the group stage. In the semifinals, the team secured a great victory with 90-56 over Albania.
