Cyprus Maritime Award 2025 to Be Presented at Maritime Cyprus Conference

Nicosia: The Shipping Deputy Ministry has announced that the ‘Cyprus Maritime Award’, a tradition since 1993, will be presented during the opening ceremony of the ‘Maritime Cyprus 2025’ Conference on Monday, 6 October 2025.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the Cyprus Maritime Award includes two categories: the Cyprus Maritime Personality Award and the Cyprus Shipping Industry Award. This distinction is given biennially to either an individual or a legal entity during the ‘Maritime Cyprus’ Conference by the President of the Republic.

The Selection Committee for the 2025 award, as appointed by the Shipping Deputy Minister to the President, consists of Chairperson Frixos Savvides and members from the Shipping Deputy Ministry including Anthony Madella, Ioannis Efstratiou, Kyriacos Aliouris, and Christina Patsiou. It also includes representatives from the Cyprus Shipping Chamber, Andreas Neophytou and Alexandros Josephides, along with Polys V. Hajioannou and George Mouskas from the Cyprus Union of Shipowners.

Nominations for the 2025 Award must be submitted to the Selection Committee, via the Permanent Secretary of the Shipping Deputy Ministry, using the prescribed forms, between 25 July 2025 and 25 August 2025, no later than 15:00 hours. The regulations for the nominations are available on the Shipping Deputy Ministry’s website, www.shipping.gov.cy. The call for applications will be made on 25 July 2025.
