Cyprus Weather Update: Warm Air Mass Brings Risk of Fog and Mist

Nicosia: Cyprus is set to experience mainly fine weather over the next 24 hours, with a seasonal low pressure and warm air mass affecting the region. The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area extending 8 kilometers seawards, indicating specific conditions for local maritime activities.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the forecast highlights the possibility of increased low cloud formation alongside local mist and fog patches occurring overnight, at dawn, and during the early morning, particularly over the southern and eastern parts of the island. Despite these conditions, no official warnings have been issued by the meteorological department.

The forecast further notes that visibility is expected to remain good but may reduce to moderate or poor in areas affected by mist, and very poor in those experiencing fog. The sea surface temperature is reported to be 27°C, a typical value for this time of year.

The atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast’s issuance was recorded at 1000hPa. Mariners and residents in the affected areas are advised to remain cautious, particularly during the early hours when visibility may be compromised.
