Cyprus Weather Forecast Predicts Isolated Showers and Thunderstorms

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, predicting weak low pressure and unstable air mass affecting the region over the next 24 hours. The forecast indicates that the weather will be partly cloudy, with periods of heavier cloud cover leading to isolated showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, hail may occur, and visibility is expected to be good, though it could reduce to moderate or poor during showers. Sea surface temperatures remain at 24°C.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the forecast for the west, south, east, and north coasts of Cyprus suggests that wind conditions will vary slightly throughout the day. During the afternoon, the west and north coasts can expect southwest to northwest winds at a Beaufort scale of 3 to 4, while the south and east coasts will experience southwest to west and south to southwest winds, respectively. The sea state across all coastal areas is predicted to be smooth to slight.

By night, winds across all coasts are expected to shift predominantly to northwest to northeast directions at a Beaufort scale of 3. The morning will see further wind shifts, with the west coast experiencing southeast to southwest winds gradually changing to south to southwest, and the south coast transitioning to southeast to southwest winds. Meanwhile, the east coast will see northwest to northeast winds gradually turning north to northeast, and the north coast will experience southeast to southwest winds shifting to southwest to northwest.

Warnings remain absent from the forecast, indicating no severe weather conditions anticipated beyond the mentioned isolated showers and thunderstorms.
