Cyprus Weather Forecast Highlights Low Pressure Impact on Coastal Areas

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released its forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, covering a period from 0600 on June 13, 2026, until 0600 on June 14, 2026. A weak low-pressure system is currently influencing the area, resulting in mostly fine weather but with potential for locally increased low cloud coverage. Mist and fog patches are expected, especially overnight and during dawn, affecting visibility which will range from moderate to poor in mist, and very poor in fog. According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was recorded at 1010 hPa. The sea surface temperature is at 24°C, and no warnings have been issued. The wind conditions will vary across different coastal areas, measured on the Beaufort scale. On the west coast, winds will shift from a southwest to northwest direction ranging from 3 to 4 in the morning, increasing slightly in the afternoon. The south coast will experience southwest to west winds, escalating from 3 to 5, while the east coast will see a transition from east to southeast winds to a southwest direction. The north coast will have southwest winds transforming to a west direction by afternoon. Throughout the forecast period, the state of the sea will range from smooth to slight, with slight conditions prevailing by afternoon and evening.
