Nicosia:The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a weather forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus for the period from 0600 on September 26, 2026, until 0600 on September 27, 2026. Atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast was recorded at 1013 hPa.
According to Cyprus News Agency, a weak low-pressure system is influencing the area, resulting in mainly fine weather with some instances of increased cloud coverage.
Visibility in the area is reported to be good, with the sea surface temperature recorded at 28°C. No weather warnings have been issued for this period.
The forecast details the wind and sea conditions for different coastal areas. On the west coast, morning winds are expected to be variable at a force of 3, becoming southwest to west. The sea state will be smooth to slight. In the afternoon, winds will shift to southwest to northwest at 3 to 4, locally reaching 4 to 5, with the sea remaining smooth to slight, locally slight later. At night, the winds will change to northwest to north at 3 to 4, with some areas experiencing west to northwest winds at 4 to 5 initially, and the sea will be smooth to slight.
For the south coast, morning winds will be variable at 3, shifting to southeast to southwest, with the sea smooth to slight. In the afternoon, winds will move from south to southwest at 3 to 4, later shifting locally to southwest to west at 4 to 5, and the sea will be smooth to slight, later becoming locally slight. At night, the wind will be southwest to west at 4, gradually becoming northwest to north at 3 to 4, with the sea remaining smooth to slight.
On the east coast, morning winds will be variable at 3, changing to northeast to southeast, and the sea will be smooth to slight. In the afternoon, winds will shift from southeast to southwest at 3 to 4, later becoming southwest, with the sea remaining smooth to slight. At night, the wind will be southwest at 3 to 4, gradually moving to west to northwest, and the sea will remain smooth to slight.
For the north coast, morning winds will be southeast to southwest at 3, gradually changing to northwest to northeast, with smooth to slight sea conditions. In the afternoon, winds will be west to northwest at 3 to 4, initially northwest to northeast, and the sea will be smooth to slight. At night, the wind will be southwest to west at 3, gradually near the coast shifting to southeast to southwest, with the sea remaining smooth to slight.
